Never did I ever think that I would be writing about Lil Wayne joining an ownership group for a professional pickleball team but here we are.

Weezy is not part ownder of The Texas Ranchers. Who are The Ranchers? They're one of eight professional pickleball teams in the country. He joins the group that already has Zach Bryan, Micah Parsons, Myles Garrett and CJ Stroud. They're hoping to make the team into a MLP powerhouse.

What will Lil Wayne's roll be? He's going to be the teams strategic advisor and will have the responsibility of drawing fans to the team. He'll also be in charge of developing apparel collaborations. 

CEO of the team, Evan Floersch said that they're excited to have Wayne on board. Also adding - 

"From the get-go, we set out to build a team that, at its core, was centered in pop culture to support our mission of becoming one of the most recognized brands in American sports."

"Having Wayne's guidance, along with the rest of this incredible ownership group, emphasizes our stance on redefining sports ownership and being a positive force for good in our local pickleball community and beyond." +

Some other HUGE names in sports have signed on with team ownership groups including Lebron James and Tom Brady. Clearly I've been living under a rock because I had no clue that there was a pro pickleball league or that these guys were part owners in the teams.
