The first day of summer heat forces a venue chance for tonight’s Latin Night

Another hot day in the Capital Region and Albany's beloved summer concert series, Alive at 5, is anticipating the heat with a venue chance for tonight’s Latin Night.  Originally set to take place at its usual outdoor location at Jennings Landing, the event will now move to the designated rain location at the Corning Preserve Boat Launch under the I-787 bridge.

Taking the stage tonight Tito Puente Jr., son of the legendary Mambo King Tito Puente, brings his infectious energy and renowned musical prowess to the stage, promising an evening filled with dance-worthy beats and unforgettable performances. Joining him is Bronte Roman, a rising star whose soulful voice and captivating stage presence continue to garner acclaim in the Latin music scene.

With temperatures expected to reach record highs, concerns for public safety prompted the decision to relocate to the nearby rain site where we will celebrate the rich rhythms and melodies during Latin Night. This family friendly event runs 4:30p to 8:30p with free water available and free sunglasses for the first 250 to visit the info booth. $8 flat fee parking is available at the Riverfront Garage (2 Columbia St.) and Quackenbush Garage (25 Orange St.) starting at 4pm.

The first day of summer heat may have altered tonight's plans, however the spirit of Latin Night at Albany's Alive at 5 remains. Whether rain or shine, the music will play on, inviting all to join in the celebration of culture, community spirit and the joy of live music Thursday nights through August 1st.
