Here are the specifics they're looking for
Every year, two giant spruce trees light up Downtown Albany to celebrate the Holiday season. One tree is placed at East Capitol Park (next to the Capitol building) the other shines over the Empire State Plaza.
The trees typically come from New York State residents. If you have a tree (or two) that you think could help light up the Capitol, the New York State Department of General Services would like to hear from you.
Here are the requirements:
- 35-55 feet tall
- Clear of power lines
- Easy for crews to access
- The closer to Albany, the better
Think you have it? Send a photo of the tree and your contact into to Kevin.Ciampi@ogs.ny.gov and your tree could be the official New York State Holiday tree for the 2024 season!
