An incredible re-enactment will take place

One of the most historic places in America is right in our backyard. If you've never experienced Fort Ticonderoga, you may want to take the family this weekend for an incredible re-enactment of the 1758 Battle of Carillon, when a greatly outnumbered French battalion held off a mighty force of 16,000 British troops.

This two-day event includes demonstrations, vignettes, narrated boat cruises, and battle reenactments, offering an immersive experience of the British advance on Lake George. Visitors will witness the siege with the sounds of cannon fire, thrilling battles, and a nighttime program recreating the battle for Carillon, later renamed Ticonderoga by the British.

On July 20, step back to July 23, 1759, and explore the French efforts to block the British invasion at Lake Champlain. Watch British and American forces push toward the Heights of Carillon, as French soldiers strategically delay their advance.

On the evening of July 20, experience the dramatic "Roar of the French Fort!" program, featuring gunfire and cannon fire. Gates open at 7 p.m. with the reenactment at 8 p.m.

On July 21, see the French evacuate Fort Carillon, disrupting the British siege efforts one last time before withdrawing.

The reenactment is included with daily admission tickets available at www.fortticonderoga.org.
